New York-born, New Mexico-raised Mike Fuller got a guitar for his 10th birthday. “I don’t even know why I asked for a guitar, but I’m glad I did”, he says. He grew up listening to Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor and the Beatles.
Other than the occasional wedding, Mike didn’t start performing live until arriving in Amarillo in 1993. his first regular gig was at o.h.m.s. cafe downtown. He now plays roughly 150 gigs a year, mainly in the Texas Panhandle.
He has released 2 cd’s of original songs- Babies in 1998 and Barefoot Music in 2001, and another cd as part of a trio with Ronnie Fleming and Gary Thomason called Plainspoken.
His music has been included on compilations produced by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, Amarillo College, and on 4 Volumes of Christmas music benefiting the Eveline Rivers Christmas Project.
Mike’s songs have also been used in the independent film What Matters Most (filmed in Vega, Texas), in the KACV TV-produced documentary Celebrating America and in a promotional film for the Habitat for Humanity office in Modesto, California.
